Ingredients and Benefits of Immunity Shots

The phytonutrients in plants are very useful, especially when it comes to supporting your body's natural detoxification systems and boosting your immune system. Here's how each of the ingredients in this immunity shot nourishes, powers and supports your body:

  • Grapefruit: Rich in Vitamin C and Vitamin A, two powerful vitamins that promote immunity.
  • Lemon: A good source of Vitamin C with antiviral and antibacterial properties.
  • Orange: It's also high in vitamin C and beta-cryptoxanthin, a carotenoid that your body converts to vitamin A.
  • Ginger: Contains gingerol, which can lower the risk of infection and inhibit the growth of many different types of bacteria.
  • Turmeric: Curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, is a powerful anti-inflammatory and very powerful antioxidant.
  • Black pepper: When you add some black pepper to your turmeric and increase the absorption of curcumin by almost 2000%!
  • Garlic: Improves immune function and contains sulfur compounds that enter the body through digestion and have many medicinal effects.

This super easy-to-prepare Citrus Immunity Shot is made from immune-boosting citrus fruits, turmeric and garlic – a delicious start to the day!

  • 1 medium grapefruit, peeled off
  • 1 medium orange
  • ½ medium lemon
  • 1 1 inch piece of fresh ginger root, peeled
  • 1 1 inch piece of fresh turmeric root, peeled
  • ½ clove garlic
  • prize freshly ground black pepper
  • Combine (whole) grapefruit, orange and lemon juice, ginger, turmeric, garlic and pepper in a blender. Mix everything until smooth (if necessary adjust ingredients to taste).

  • Place a small colander or colander over a mason jar or glass bowl. .

  • Pour the liquid into the colander and serve immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days
