For some people, exercise and weight loss helped improve brain health, but only partially. However, long-term functions like verbal learning and overall memory actually deteriorated.

According to the study, people who were initially considered to be overweight were more likely to show improvements than those who were obese. However, glycemic control was effective in both cases.
