Coronation Street star Jennie McAlpine has revealed how she has lost three dress sizes since her first appearance on the Soap in 2001.
The actress, famous for her role as Fiz Brown on the cobblestone streets, says she got in shape with “common sense”.
Jennie says all she had to do to lose weight was eat a healthy diet without too many restrictions.
“It’s not rocket science,” she told her fans, explaining that the best way to lose weight is to trust your own instincts about what’s good and what’s bad for you.
“I don’t go into all diet plans or worry about how much you weigh,” she said. “Ice cream is bad, salad is good – this is not rocket science.”

The Corrie star continued, “As you eat more of the good stuff and exercise more, you will lose weight.”
Jennie said she doesn’t care about her diet and is satisfied with her efforts after cutting three dress sizes down.
She added, “It’s really not worth beating yourself up over it. I know there is pressure in this business but I can honestly say that I have never felt it myself.
“I am not saying that I will let it go because I am of course aware of it, but I am not bothered by it. I just think that there are much more important things in the world.
“A balanced diet and regular exercise are essential to maintain a healthy lifestyle and begin your weight loss journey.”
