The Truth about weighing scales

Did you enjoy this beautiful late summer weather? Are you enjoying your weight loss program? Be honest with yourself. Are you living life to the fullest and making changes to look and feel better? Or get stuck in a rut that goes on from day to day.

What is madness? Madness continues to do what you've always done and expects a different outcome.

In an earlier post a few months ago, we talked about spring cleaning. Suppression in a practical and psychological sense. What changes have you made since then? A trip to the charity shop with old, unfashionable clothes that make you feel grumpy every time you put them on? Perhaps you've turned your bedroom into a sanctuary of calm? Make sure you have a notebook and at least one motivational book in your locker. Each night has set itself the goal of reading a relevant chapter and writing down at least one performance for the day. What about a goal for tomorrow? Something easy to improve on … maybe to drink more water, take a brisk walk, take protein snacks with you when you are out, or cut your coffee by one cup a day.

Speaking of disappointment and positive change; Are the scales still lurking in your bathroom, waiting to judge and discourage you without pity or understanding? Do you continue the daily ritual of checking the stones and pounds or angry to show off the pounds? There is a simple solution: hide it or throw it away. Stop weighing yourself. Stop feeding!

But why do I hear you say

The reasons why you should stop weighing yourself now are:

1. The scale is the most important factor that contributes to people being able to lose their weight or not be able to control it. It is the most negative instrument in the world.

2. It is inaccurate 2 out of 3 times. It causes reactions like anger, despair, and frustration as it has often increased after a good week and decreased after a not-so-good week, which amplifies the negative behavior.

3. Regardless of what you ate, it fluctuates as it does not take into account the menstrual cycle if your last bowel movement, if you are under stress, if you have just been exercising, was a change in the weather. Scales do not differentiate between fat loss and water fluctuations. It should only be used once a month.

4. Fat loss, not weight loss, is the key to success as it changes the proportions and shape of the body. The change in body composition is most important as it reduces fat and maintains muscle mass. The leaner your muscles, the easier it is to maintain weight and the healthier you will get.
