Why is it good to carry a water bottle?
We have enjoyed incredible weather over the past two weeks. Sunshine and warm evenings lift the mood and provide much-needed relaxation from the stress of the last 18 months.
However, warm weather can be a cause of fluid retention, so it is important to make sure you drink AT LEAST 2 LITERS of water each day. This may sound like a contradiction in terms: I am holding fluid and you want me to refill! Try this approach and you will never think of water retention again:
When it comes to water in our body, I like to think of a lake.
When we don’t drink enough, our bodies hold a lake of standing water. Think of a green, murky lake like you would see in your local park.
Instead, the water in our body should be more like a nice clear waterfall with regular urination.
To do this, the body should consist of around 60 percent water. If there is not enough water in the tank and the tank runs empty, you can only fill it by drinking at least two liters of water a day.
Heat can lead to dehydration and we lose extra fluids through sweat, etc. All the more reason to drink more water.

And to the crux of today’s Motivate Me – why it’s good to carry a water bottle.
When you carry a water bottle, the physical touch of the cold water bottle is a powerful motivator for staying hydrated. This physical act is part of the kinesthetic sensory experience.
A kinesthetic sensory preference means that what you ingest through touch, taste, smell, muscle position, and temperature perception, is usually registered the fastest and most intensely in your brain. It gets your attention faster and may even use less energy to decode the data.
We know that drinking water / hydration is one of the most powerful tools for effective and long-lasting weight loss.
Make it a main habit – equip yourself and carry a water bottle.
Of all the health tips out there, drinking more water can’t be the hardest. All it takes is a little planning and determination. Check out our free e-book, The water report Here.
